co-ording around

It had to happen, didn’t it? The time would finally come when I tried out a co-ord set . I honestly didn’t expect to love it, I think they look brilliant on other bloggers (and non-bloggers for that matter) but I really didn’t think it was something I’d feel comfortable OR confident in. As it happens it made me feel both, and a little bit more “fashion” than I usually am.

Co-ord c/o Missguided | Shoes: Marks and Spencer

I was first drawn to the print of the co-ord, that and the fact it’s shorts and a cropped top rather than a body con skirt and super tight vest. The shorts sit nice and high on the waist which makes them super flattering and they are also a decent length which was a huge pull for me as I just don’t do hot pants (or body con). The top has a zip all the way down the back which breaks up the florals a little and also looks pretty awesome teamed with denim.
Shoe wise I popped on my Birkenstock a-likes from Marks and Spencer. I had originally gone in to get these slide sandals which I fell in love with after seeing them in a press release. They weren’t in stock in my size though and although I was prepared to wait or order online I then saw these in white and they were just so comfortable I couldn’t leave them behind. I can’t find the white ones online but there is some super pretty pastel shades ins tead and at £17.50 they are a total bargain!
I haven’t yet worn the co-ord set further than the back garden, Nailsea isn’t really a town ready for such fashionable attire but the second I head to the city I’m game on, I think…I actually have a second set from Primark in my wardrobe ready to be worn too, I love how one little set can be worn in any number of ways.
What do you think of the co-ord trend? I was late to warm to it but I think I’m a fan.

I love co-ords but I’ve yet to try the trend for myself – I really want to though! This is such a pretty set – I like the sliver of waist that peeks through but I don’t know if I could pull it off 🙂 x

  4. Love this look. Set like this are awesome.

  5. You look nice in this. I like the trend but I’ve not been motivated to buy anything, only of I saw something I really liked at a good price x

  6. This is lovely. I have a floral playsuit that I only wear in my garden as it’s too short for my confidence to let me wear it anywhere else! I’m yet to be convinced by the co-ord trend, you look amazing but I don’t think it’s very me…

  11. Youre tall and lean so you have the perfect figure for the co-ords, but I’m just not sure I would have the confidence for them having a rather large derriere in comparisson to my frame.

  13. I’m not a huge fan of this trend, mainly bc I don’t have a lovely figure like you to pull it off 😀

  14. Love the co-or trend! I’ve loved it from the beginning but still haven’t found the right one for me. I really wanted a midi skirt and crop top! Anyway, I love this outfit on you! Really suits your figure and the pattern is so pretty!

    Great post 🙂

  15. Aww Laura you look so utterly beautiful! <3

Co-ords are such a hot look this summer, you're rocking them to perfection 🙂 I love the shorts and crop top look, definitely more appealing I agree, than a body-con skirt and tight vest. Loving your shoes too!
I'm not sure if I could rock a co-ords set as personally I don't feel that confident in body con or shorts, but you look so effortless and natural I want to give it a go. A perfect advocate, you are! 😉

  16. There is just no chance I would ever be able to wear something like this.
I like the idea of the co ord trend – in theory – but I have yet to find one which I would be able to wear without completely freaking out. I just don’t have the body for things which show off my flesh. Nor will I ever have the confidence for them.
I really like the print on this one though and think it suits you!!

  17. I love patterns so 2 patterned pieces are perfect. They look lovely on you. I know how you feel about wearing certain clothes out and about locally. I tend to save certain things for days out in Bristol, Bath or London.

  18. I don’t think I could pull off the co-ords look, but you really suit this! Love the print. xxx
